Paul S. Carastro, P.E., President

Paul Carastro is President of Carastro & Associates and has been a member of the firm since 1988.   Paul leads the Electrical Department and produces and supervises electrical designs from concept through construction, incorporating flexibility and redundancy that goes beyond complying with code. His experience with short circuit analysis, equipment coordination studies, critical power applications, and power quality issues ensures project excellence and client satisfaction. His engineering specialties include custom switchgear, generator paralleling systems, medium and low voltage distribution, and uninterruptible power systems.

Paul has designed electrical systems for a large variety of projects including healthcare and educational facilities, commercial buildings and mission critical facilities. In those projects, he provided the direct supervision of electrical designs, master planning and construction administration.

Paul is an active member of the Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers (IEEE), the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), and is an Accredited Tier Designer (ATD). Additionally, Paul is a licensed Commercial Electrical Inspector by the International Code Council and an accredited Data Center Energy Practitioner (DCEP) Specialist.

 


 

George F. Stefanovici, P.E., LEED AP BD+C, Vice President

George Stefanovici joined Carastro & Associates in 1996 and has served as Vice President since 2009.  As head of the Mechanical Department, he supervises the design of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems. His areas of expertise include chilled water systems, direct expansion, demand control ventilation, and energy recovery systems.

George has designed mechanical systems in various applications such as schools, dormitories, offices, hospitals and data centers. These projects included master planning, design and renovation of central chilled water plants, innovative cooling solutions tailored to site constraints, as well as modular and flexible design to closely control cost.

George is directly involved with current designs targeting LEED certification and Energy Star rating and has received an ASHRAE Award for energy efficient systems design. He is a member of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) and is an Accredited Tier Designer (ATD). Additionally, George is an accredited Data Center Energy Practitioner (DCEP) Specialist.
